Food & beverage

The contemporary style restaurant 'Joost' is situated in Hotel Vondel, where you can enjoy the beautiful paintings of Peter Keizer. Here we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In the hotel bar, guests can do business or relax in a comfortable way. This is the ideal place for a cup of coffee, a snack or a drink.

When the weather is good our city garden is open for lunch, drinks and dinner!

A laptop with a Wi-Fi internet connection is available free of charge in the restaurant.

Room information

Vondel Loft Suite
This suite is recently renovated and has capacity for four persons. The loft consists of two bedrooms each one floor. Both rooms have their own bathroom. The room on the lowest floor has a bath tub and a walk-in rain shower. The bathroom on the top floor has a walk-in rain shower. The lowest floor has also a big living room and a kitchen. Of course are the rooms equipped with luxurious facilities like flat screens, iPod docking stations and Nespresso machine.

Family Suite
The Vondel Family Suite offers 2 bedrooms with a connecting door. The children’s room has a bunk bed with separate flat screen TV’s, mini bar and its own bathroom with a shower. The parents’ room is a large executive room which offers a comfortable sitting area, a working desk and a spacious bathroom with bathtub.

Some rooms are equipped with air conditioning (subject to availability).

Area information

Hotel Vondel is located in the centre of Amsterdam close to the Museums square (Rijksmuseum van Van Gogh museum), the Leidseplein with a huge variety of restaurants, bars and cafes. The Vondelpark and the major shopping streets are also in close vicinity.

The courtesy of the staff, particularly the actions of the duty manager with regard to early check-in - which the receptionist initially told me would incur an hourly charge up until 15.00.

A personal dislike of the lay-out of the restaurant/bar area.

Breakfast was wonderful, but pricey! Location was excellent.

Room was very small, altought I have made the reservation for a spacious room, and was charged for that extra 30 euros.

The location was brilliant.

The rooms were too warm and the air conditioning did not work well. We asked for a queen sized bed and got two single beds - which was quite frustrating.

The location is great, easy walking to the center but still very quiet. The room is really confortable and the bed was amazing! Staff at reception were very nice.

The breakfast was not worth the price (and it was not included in the room) and staff were really rude and treated us like we were bothering them.

Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was beautiful

My suite that cost 500GBP per night came with a iron, yet ours was a basic dry iron (should at least be steam) with a huge hole in it and dirty plate. Reception had nothing to replace it with, did not offer to buy one and did not supply a spray water bottle to use with the dry iron, though I asked repeatedly two days in a row. I spent my stay with unironed clothes!! Hotel not terribly clean.

We got uppgraded froma dubbel room to the loft suite upon arrival. Thank you very much. We anjoyed our stay at Hotel Vondel. I believe Nina was the girls name who checked us in. The check in procedure was incredibly smooth. I just had to sign the form, then we got the keys. I wish it was as smooth every time I needed to check in to a hotel. = )
